Cingular secures GPRS roaming deal
Dec 7, 2001, 2:42 AM by (staff)
Cingular Wireless has announced the implementation of inter-carrier roaming for GPRS services. Beginning immediately, Cingular GPRS customers in certain western markets will be able to roam across any other Cingular properties, as well as on other carriers' networks where GPRS is available. The capability is the first of its kind in the USA. The roaming agreements allow Cingular's GPRS customers to seamlessly access these external networks and the next phase of the implementation, which will be available later this month, will enable Cingular's customers in the southeast to enjoy these same benefits.
