AirNet® Communications Corporation this week announced that Redwood Wireless has placed orders for $1.7M of AirNet equipment including AdaptaCell™ and AirSite® base stations. The AdaptaCell products feature SDR (Software Defined Radio) technology, which allows the base station to support new technology, such as EDGE, with a simple software upgrade. Redwood has licenses in 12 rural markets in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Michigan and Wisconsin and the initial order will be deployed in five of those markets. Redwood hopes to place orders with AirNet in the near future for its remaining seven markets.
