Rhode Island Preparing to Launch E-911

Rhode Island says it is poised to become the first state in the nation with technology allowing dispatchers to pinpoint the location of emergency calls from cell phone users. Enhanced 911 uses global positioning technology to pinpoint the cell phone's location. The enhanced system was expected to be up and running next week.
