Cingular Announces Great Lakes Expansion

Cingular Wireless today announced that it will invest more than $700 million in its network for the Great Lakes region (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin) in 2002. Cingular plans to deploy new digital voice paths that will nearly triple capacity on existing cell towers in the region during 2002. Concurrently, Cingular will deploy 200 new cell sites in this five-state region over the next year.
