Cingular today launched a new "e-storefront" where consumers and businesses can shop on the Web to purchase applications enabled for mobile phones, PDAs and other devices that operate on Cingular Wireless networks. The new e-storefront contains such consumer items as games, electronic books and personal information management applications, and enterprise-oriented solutions for a variety of organizations, including IT, sales and field service. Many of the applications can be wirelessly downloaded directly to the device. Most consumer applications are available for under $5 and the majority of business solutions are priced under $100. They can be purchased with a credit card or in some cases charged directly to a customer's Cingular phone bill.
