Openwave Buys Location, Java-Download Companies

Openwave Systems today said it will buy SignalSoft, a developer of wireless location service software. Openwave, a top maker of Web browsing and instant messaging software for mobile devices, also purchased technology from Ellipsus Systems. Openwave said the Ellipsus technology will expand its download management software offerings to include the delivery of Java applications such as games and multimedia content.
