VoiceStream Merger Talk Heats Up

Deutsche Telekom AG has hired three banks to advise on options for its mobile phone business. The German newspaper Welt am Sonntag reported that Deutsche Telekom AG is in ongoing talks with US GSM operators Cingular Wireless Services and AT&T Wireless on a possible merger with its US unit VoiceStream. A sale could reap as much as $15 billion.
