Wavecom SA this week announced the launch of the world's first quadband GSM/GPRS module. The module, which is expected to be commercially available in early 2003, will enable handset manufacturers to bring quadband mobile phones to market quickly and cost-efficiently. Wavecom's target customers include young and emerging handset manufacturers, as well as PDA manufacturers. The module is part of Wavecom's WISMO product line, which are compact devices that include all of the hardware and software needed to enable wireless communications over mobile networks.
