Analog Devices Announces EDGE Platform

Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) announced today plans to develop a complete EDGE platform for portable wireless devices. ADI's platform will feature EDGE/E-GPRS software from TTPCom, and will be based on ADI's Blackfin DSP and Othello direct conversion radio technology. EDGE is an ehancement to GSM/GPRS technology that provides triple the data rates, allowing 3G services. The platform will be available in the first half of 2003, and will allow manufacturers to bring EDGE devices to market faster.
