BSQUARE Corporation last week announced the Power Handheld™ reference design, which employs an Intel XScale processor and the Microsoft Windows CE .NET operating system. The device features a full-VGA TFT display and GPRS high-speed wireless data, as well as GSM voice capability with speakerphone, all in a small handheld size. The innovative form factor features a landscape layout and unique retractable keyboard. The company is in talks with multiple OEMs and carriers to manufacture and sell the device. As a turn-key design, some carriers are expected to offer the device as-is, while other carriers are expected to offer custom devices based on the platform.
