Verizon Launches ATM Payments for Prepaid
Oct 16, 2002, 2:16 PM by (staff)
Verizon Wireless yesterday announced a new service to replenish, or top-up, prepaid wireless service via ATMs. This type of service is widely available overseas, but is new to the U.S. Beginning at the end of October, subscribers to Verizon's [FREEUP] prepaid service can replenish minutes at select ATM machines in Boston and St. Loius. After swiping a major credit card, customers simply need to enter their wireless phone number and select the replenishment amount. The [FREEUP] account is immediately updated. ATM replenishment will be available nationally in early 2003.
