Telos Technology says that it has joined forces with LG Electronics to build the USA's first data-only, CDMA2000 network for Monet Mobile Networks. Operating on licensed spectrum in the 1900 band, Monet's CDMA2000 network uses LGE's Radio Access Network (RAN) and Packet Data Serving Node (PDSN), supported by a Telos wireless Softswitch. Testing and installation of the system are now complete. Monet Mobile Networks launched its data service network to residential and business customers in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in October 2001 - the first regional carrier to do so in the United States.
