Antenna specialist Antenova Ltd. has revealed further details of its directional antenna technology, and claims products based on its innovative design will start appearing in devices including mobile handsets by the first quarter of next year. The technology, dubbed High Dielectric Antenna (HDA), allows antenna sizes to shrink dramatically and to be mounted very close together. This greatly improves the feasibility of new multiple-antenna high-speed data technologies, such as Lucent's recently-announced BLAST Multiple Input-Multiple Output (MIMO) technology.
