Nextel, Motorola, and Qualcomm recently agreed to develop a version of Nextel's Direct Connect feature that will work on Qualcomm's 3G technology, cdma2000. The new technology will be based on Qualcomm's existing QChat product. The new service will extend Direct Connect to work globally.
