Motorola Unveils Linux Smartphone

Motorola today announced the Motorola A760, the world's first handset combining a Linux operating system and Java™ technology, with full multimedia PDA functionality. The A760 includes a color touch-screen, digital camera, video player, MP3 player, speakerphone, advanced messaging, Internet access and Bluetooth™ wireless technology. The device is a GSM/GPRS world phone, and is expected to first launch in the Asia Pacific region in 2003.
