Samsung, Infineon Demo Symbian Hardware Platform

Samsung Electronics and Infineon Technologies today announced a a comprehensive smartphone system solution, based on Symbian OS. The platform includes Samsung's new System-in Package (SiP) ARM9-based Application Processor and an Infineon GSM/GPRS Class 10 modem. The solution includes MPEG-4 video technology from PacketVideo. The platform is designed to reduce time to market and project risk for Symbian licensees. The first public demonstration will take place at the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes this week.
