Kyocera Unveils Affordable BREW 2.0 Phones

(updated) Kyocera Wireless today announced a series of entry-tier, affordable BREW-enabled CDMA phones with color displays. Kyocera will offer versions of its Phantom, Blade and Rave Series phones that feature BREW 2.0 and enhanced 4,096-color displays that use software dithering to emulate 65,000-color performance. The new BREW-enabled versions of the phone are collectively known as Kyocera's KX400 Series. Carriers will be able to select up to 1.5 MB of internal memory to store BREW applications. The first KX400 series phones are expected to be available in the 3rd quarter.
