Symbian Ltd. today launched Symbian OS 7.0s. The new operating system version add several key new features. The new OS lets users access more than one network service at the same time, with varying Quality of Service (QoS). The new version also includes Java MIDP 2.0, which supports more powerful Java applications, such as games that use Bluetooth and messaging. A new multimedia framework (MMF) for high-performance video and games has also been added, as well as support for Arabic and Hebrew languages. Symbian delivered the new software to its licensees earlier this year. Devices using the new OS have yet to be announced. Earlier versions of the OS are used in phones such as the Sony Ericsson P800 and Nokia 3650.
