Nokia Reveals Compact Pen-Based Phone

Nokia today introduced the 6108, a mobile phone with a keypad that flips down to reveal a pen-input pad. Although designed for Chinese language users in Asia Pacific markets, the 6108 is a tri-band (GSM 900/1800/1900) world phone, and recognises handwriting in both Chinese and Latin characters. The 6108 also features a colour display, MMS, Java™, a built-in email client, an XHTML browser, a "Chinese-English-Chinese" dictionary and enhanced features for Chinese language users in the region. The Nokia 6108 will be commercially available in Asia Pacific markets during the third quarter of 2003.
