Industry leaders Motorola, Nokia, Siemens, Sony Ericsson and Sun Microsystems today announced plans to unify their Java™ application testing and certification programs. Java applications that have passed certification testing under the new common criteria will bear a special Java logo from Sun. The initiative is expected to accelerate the availability of applications and services for Java-enabled wireless devices, and lower costs for both application developers and network operators.
