T-Mobile USA this week began offering unlimited GPRS data plans. The new flat-rate service is $19.99 per month when paired with a qualifying voice plan, or $29.99 as a standalone data-only plan. The company announced the plans last week as special plans available for its new color-display Sidekick device, but this week quietly updated its web site to make the plans available for handhelds and laptop data cards as well. Customers report that the company is also offering the new plans to phone and smartphone users who call the company to upgrade.
