Handspring today began taking U.S. orders for Treo, its new combo phone and organizer device. Treo is available from Handspring's Web site, with the first deliveries by the end of February. The device will hit retailers in March. Available with either a mini-keyboard or handwriting recognition, Treo will sell for about $400 with a new service activation, and $550 without. Cingular and VoiceStream will offer mobile service for the device.
