Cingular Places Record Orders with Nokia, Ericsson for GSM/GPRS/EDGE Network

Cingular Wireless has placed orders with Nokia, Ericsson, and Siemens worth almost $4 billion to build its high-speed mobile phone network nationwide. The deal includes GSM, GPRS, EDGE, and WCDMA technology. The rollout is expected to be complete by 2004.
