Apple, Samsung Suits Tossed by German Court

The court in Germany overseeing patent-related lawsuits between Apple and Samsung has dismissed both cases. The Mannheim Regional Court rejected Apple's slide-to-unlock complaint against Samsung, and rejected Samsung's standard essential 3G patent complaint against Apple. The European Commission is currently reviewing Samsung's patent lawsuit practices, and is investigating whether or not Samsung is abusing the fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory practices regarding standard essential patents. The two companies still have cases pending in a number of countries, including the U.S.
