Motorola Says China Still Reviewing Google Acquisition
Mar 19, 2012, 9:55 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Motorola today revealed in regulatory filings that its acquisition by Google is to receive an additional round of scrutiny from China regulators. The deal has already been approved by European and U.S. regulators, and is awaiting only China's approval before the acquisition can be completed. Motorola said it still believes the deal will close by June, though it cautioned, "Motorola Mobility and Google can provide no assurances as to whether or when the transaction will receive clearance." The acquisition was first announced in August 2011.
