TeleNav today announced a new web-based service called Scout for Apps. The service is being offered to developers, who can incorporate TeleNav's HTML5 voice-guided GPS navigation service directly into their own web apps. TeleNav is also offering Scout to consumers, who can point their mobile browsers to Scout.me to get web-based directions on their phone. TeleNav said that Scout.me has been optimized for the iOS browser, but not yet for the Android browser (though it will still probably work on an Android device). Developers can download the appropriate tools from TeleNav's web site.
