Opera today announced the availability of Opera Mini 7 for Android devices. Opera Mini 7 performs faster for Android due to improved hardware acceleration, according to Opera. Opera has also removed the limit on speed dial buttons (previously nine), and Opera Mini 7 now supports as many speed dial buttons as the user wishes. Opera says this negates the need for users to set up bookmarks, as the speed dial buttons can replace them. Last, Opera says the browser is better at compressing data, which can save users money by making more efficient use of cellular data. The browser is a free download from the Android Market.
