Verizon Wireless today announced a software upgrade for the LG VX-4500 phone. The upgrade is designed specifically for low vision and blind users, adding interactive voice control and feedback. In addition to the common voice dialing, digit dialing, and voice command features, the new software adds a new voice-menu feature, and provides voice feedback of new voicemail, caller-ID, battery and signal information, roaming status, and time and date. The software is available as an upgrade at Verizon Wireless stores, or upon request when purchasing a new VX-4500.
