Opera Mini 7 for Feature Phones Gets Smart
May 31, 2012, 7:15 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Opera Software today announced the availability of Opera Mini 7 for select feature phones and smartphones. The newest version of Opera's browser features something called Smart Page, which Opera describes as a one-page summary of all the news from the user's Facebook and Twitter feeds. Smart Page takes advantage of the same data compression algorithms that the browser does when seeking out and syncing social networking data, so it won't add to users' monthly bill. Opera Mini 7's Smart Page also includes suggestions for news sites to follow, as well as the option to add the feeds from oft-browsed sites. Opera Mini 7 is compatible with Java-based feature phones, Symbian S60, and BlackBerry OS.
