Windows Phone 8 Will Offer Advanced, NFC-Based Wallet
Jun 20, 2012, 11:39 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Microsoft today announced that Windows Phone 8 will include a near-field communications-based Wallet Hub. Microsoft says its wallet product is the most complete experience available on a mobile device. It will support debit cards and credit cards, as well as loyalty programs and memberships. It will work with local deals sites and services, and ticketing services. And it will support tap-an-go payments via NFC-equipped phones. The Mobile Wallet Hub will first launch with Orange in France, but Microsoft has not said if or when the feature will reach U.S. carriers. Microsoft Wallet will launch with support from Chase bank as well as PayPal. It will be included in all Microsoft Windows Phone 8 devices.
