Qualcomm Picks Up Summit Microelectronics

Qualcomm recently announced that it has acquired Summit Microelectronics. Summit provides programmable power integrated circuits that Qualcomm will be able to use to improve the energy efficiency of its mobile phone processors. Qualcomm believes the acquisition will help it offer its device manufacturer customers a broader range of affordable products that are also more efficient at charging their batteries. Qualcomm said Summit's employees have been added to its CDMA division. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
