Nokia this week announced the launch of Python for Series 60. The new software allows developers familiar with the open-source Python programming language to quickly and easily execute Python commands and run Python scripts and applications on Series 60-based smartphones. Developing applications for Series 60 previously required either C++ or Java. The addition of Python will allow developers to rapidly create prototype and proof-of-concept software, and also open the platform to casual hobbyists familiar with Python.
