BenQ has signed an expanded licensing agreement with Qualcomm. In addition to CDMA One and CDMA 2000 handsets, BenQ can now manufacture WCDMA and TD-SCDMA handsets and modem cards. BenQ has already designed GSM smartphones and data cards, this new license agreement will allow them to create advanced devices for all 3G specifications, however they appear to be focused on UMTS. Both BenQ and Qualcomm make an effort to mention BenQ's WCDMA products in the announcement.
