Sprint CEO Dan Hesse today said that Sprint will activate its LTE 4G network in the city of Baltimore by the end of August. Baltimore was one of Sprint's first WiMax markets, and was expected to be among the initial batch of LTE cities. Sprint launched LTE in Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Kansas City, and San Antonio earlier this month. Hesse did not name any other LTE markets, nor did he say exactly when LTE will go live in Baltimore. Additionally, Hesse mentioned a previously unannounced device, the Motorola Photon Q, which is an Android smartphone that will include LTE 4G, worldwide roaming, and a QWERTY keyboard. No other details of the device were revealed, though Hesse said it is launching soon.
