Google Adds CardDAV Support for Contact Syncing
Sep 27, 2012, 12:53 PM by Eric M. Zeman
Google today announced that it now supports the CardDAV open protocol, which can be used to sync Google contacts to a number of third-party contact applications. Most notably, CardDAV can be used with the native iOS contact app to sync Google contacts with an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch. Google already supports IMAP for email and CalDAV for calendar syncing with mobile devices. Directions are available on Google's support pages to set up CardDAV accounts on iOS devices.
