Opera Software today made a new version of its Opera Mobile browser available to the Android platform. Opera Mobile 12.1 includes several under-the-hood changes that are meant to help protect users and speed up surfing. The first is a new fraud warning that will pop up when Android smartphone owners navigate to a questionable web site. Opera Mobile 12.1 also tosses in improved support for SPDY and WebSockets, as well as CSS and HTML5. These make the browser better at talking to web servers and better at fetching web page content. Opera Mobile 12.1 is a free download from the Google Play Store.
