Preview of Next Windows Mobile OS

A walk-through of the new Windows Mobile Pocket PC phone software has been created using an unofficial beta copy. Overall the new Operating System has a redesigned interface, improved applications and a few new programs. The phone part has been improved with a new dialer, caller-specific ringtones, and support for photo caller ID which will sync with Outlook contact photos. Microsoft has not yet announced this software, nor does it have an official name. Although features and menus are still subject to change, rumors are that the software is nearing completion, so the information and screen shots should be a fairly accurate portrayal of the final version.

Maybe it's just me but I would be very reluctant to buy any phone with a Microsoft OS unless they open it up to the public and allow for real innovation.
Just out of curiosity, what kind of "innovation"...
