Google today announced the availability of Google Play Services version 2.0. Play Services are a series of tools that allow Android developers to embed elements of Play Store apps/functions in their own applications. The new version of the Google Play Services toolkit adds two new functions for developers, including Google Maps and Photo Sphere APIs. This means developers will be able to add Google Maps and Photo Sphere elements to their own applications. Further, Google said that it is making Photo Sphere an open format that can be used by anyone. Developers can access the new tools from Google's Android developer portal.
