Dec 7, 2012, 8:53 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Broadcom indicated on Thursday that it plans to begin supplying LTE 4G baseband radios to its smartphone customers beginning in 2013. The company does not have any LTE chips at the moment, and has lost business to rivals that do. Broadcom did not provide a timeline for when the LTE chips would be available, but said it will be sampling the radios to its customers next year. Most of today's high-end smartphones support LTE.
