Cingular Premieres Songs As Ringtones

Cingular will help artists debut new songs via ringtones. Cingular Sounds is a new ringtone download service for subscribers that will feature new singles before or at the same time as their release for radio play. Sounds launched today with Coldplay's new single "Speed of Sound," from their new album due out in June. Although this is a US first, bands and record labels in Europe and Asia have released songs, and even whole albums, as ringtones before they were available for purchase.

Good for Cingular

I guess thats pretty cool if you want the most recent hit song on your phone. Its not for this kid.. I can bluetooth just about any song I want for free, thats one of the many reasons I left verizon. Still cool though if you want a very recent hit song.
