Google today revealed a new version of Google+ for Android devices as well as for desktop browsers. The new mobile application for Android smartphones adds a number of features, including improved photo quality and more free online photo storage (5GB). All Android devices running Froyo and up will be able to view PhotoSphere images in the mobile Google+ app. The app also adds emoji, support for animated GIFs, a lockscreen widget, mobile profile editing, easier post composition, and birthday reminders in Google Now. The application will be available via the Google Play Store later today. Some of the changes that are specific to the browser version of Google+ include improved event planning, tweaked Hangouts, and the ability to stream Hangouts over lower bandwidth connections.
