Motorola last week came forward with details including launch plans for iRadio, a music service they announced last year. Instead of streaming radio over a data connection, users will be able to download up to 10 hours of music from commercial free music channels of many genres, similar to satellite radio's variety. The service will require a computer and a new Motorola handset running the iRadio software which will have 256 MB of memory and cost about $200. iRadio will cost $5-7 per month and will be available in a few markets mid-May. Motorola hopes to launch the service nationwide by the fourth quarter.
