Rumors of Siemens selling off their mobile unit or entering a joint venture have resurfaced with the approach of Siemens' quarterly financial results. Saturday rumors of the company entering a joint venture with Acer appeared in an AFP story. Today Acer quickly denied those rumors, in a patten similar to LG and Ningbo Bird before them. Additional rumors of talks with Motorola or Nortel have not yet been confirmed, however Motorola chose to not comment on them instead of outright denial. Siemens will announce their financial results April 27, and it has been hinted a deal will be announced at that time.
