Yahoo Purchases Mobile Recommendations Company
Feb 12, 2013, 5:08 PM by Eric M. Zeman
Yahoo today confirmed that it has purchased a small company called Alike. Similar to Foursquare, Alike allows users to recommend or "favorite" locations or venues based on their preferences and proximity. Alike will be joining Yahoo's mobile team. The company will no longer support its separate iOS and web-based apps. Neither Yahoo nor Alike has shared the purchase price for the transaction.
