AT&T Adds Wi-Fi Support to Its Enhanced PTT Service

AT&T has moved into phase two of its enhanced push-to-talk service roll-out, adding support for Wi-Fi hotspots. This means customers of AT&T's Enhanced PTT Services can conduct PTT calls over both AT&T's cellular data network and now Wi-Fi hotspots. AT&T launched the first phase of its Enhanced PTT service last year with the hopes of capturing former iDEN customers fleeing Sprint. AT&T has not provided any stats to reveal how well its Enhanced PTT is performing. AT&T's Enhanced PTT service is run on technology provided by Kodiak Networks.
