Twitter Retiring TweetDeck for Android and iOS
Mar 4, 2013, 8:43 PM by Eric M. Zeman
Twitter today announced that it plans to cease offering Tweetdeck to the Android and iOS platforms. Tweetdeck will be removed from the Google Play Store and iTunes App Store by early May, and will stop working soon after. Twitter bought Tweetdeck and several other third-party Twitter apps in order to more closely control the experience of its service. It suggests that Android and iOS device owners use the official Twitter apps for their respective platforms. Twitter is also killing off the AIR-based Tweetdeck app for PCs. Instead, Twitter will continue to increase the functionality of Twitter.com, Tweetdeck for Chrome browser, and the official mobile apps.
