The Wi-Fi Alliance today announced that its planned merger with the Wireless Gigabit Alliance is now complete. They also believe that together the new Wi-Fi Alliance can work more efficiently on future short-range wireless broadband standards and technologies. The first Wi-Fi Alliance interoperability certification program for WiGig products is expected to launch by the end of 2013.
