Twitter today made significant updates available to its Android and iOS apps. On the Android side, the foremost change is the app's partial adoption of the Holo theme. The update makes it easier to perform searches with improved autocomplete for hash tags and usernames. The app also makes some performance improvements. It is a free download from the Google Play Store. Both the iOS and Android apps make it easier to launch other apps from within tweets made using that app. The apps also include better support for Twitter "cards", which enhance tweets with extra media and text related to a web page linked in the tweet. Twitter's mobile web site has also been updated with most of these features.
