Bluegrass Cellular today announced a modest expansion of its LTE 4G network. Bluegrass Cellular is part of Verizon Wireless' LTE in Rural America program, and uses Verizon's spectrum, but its own equipment, to offer LTE services. The company first launched LTE in test markets of Bowling Green, Elizabethtown, and Radcliff late year. Today's expansion brings LTE 4G to Clarksville, Tenn., and Hopkinsville, Owensboro, Danville, and Richmond, Ky. Bluegrass Cellular expects to cover a total of 700,000 pops in these and other markets by June.
