Google Says Curt Goodbye to SMS Search
May 13, 2013, 7:04 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Google has discontinued its SMS-based search product. SMS Search was a way to perform a Google Search from any cell phone by sending the query to a Google shortcode. Google would then return the results via SMS. In a short message posted to the Google Search forum, Google said the product was dropped in order to streamline its offerings and help it focus on other, more important products.
